PBrid Maguire Psychotherapist,
Counsellor and Supervisor accredited with I.A.H.I.P.and Counsellor accredited with I.A.H.I.
Let me introduce myself to you. I have been working full-time as a Psychotherapist and Counsellor since 1998. Having worked in the area of youth work I entered my Psychotherapy training at the Institute of Creative Counselling and Psychotherapy in Dun Laoghaire. I immediately felt like I was doing what I was most comfortable doing. I have practised in a wide variety of settings over the years - I spent two years working out of General Practice in Stoneybatter. I spent some time working on a European Funded project called 'Pathways to Education' aimed at helping young people stay in school. I spent a number of years practising in Dun Laoghaire out of I.C.C.P. I was involved in the various Psychotherapy and Counselling training programmes which were so highly regarded. I operated my practice alongside that work. I also co-ordinated a short-term counselling service run alongside local G.P. practices which has now become known as the National Primary Care Service. I have qualified as a Supervisor with the Dublin Counselling an Therapy Centre and received my accreditation from IAHIP.
Since 2009, I have been working in Dublin City Centre, based at Group Analytic Practice in Lower Abbey St. I am accredited with the Irish Association of Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy which is a member group of the Irish Council of Psychotherapy. I also hold the European Certificate of Psychotherapy.
I enjoy my work, I find it a privilage to be allowed facilitate people in their attempts at coming to terms with themselves and finding new ways to manage living. I welcome contact from you or referrals and suggest always that we would have an initial meeting to see if I can help you or not.
